Delete your Pathwei account
You can delete your Pathwei account and everything in it at any time. You do not need to ask us for permission, and you do not need to give a reason.
If you only want to remove some of your information, for example the notes Wei keeps, or your CV, you do not have to delete your whole account. See Delete your data instead.
Option 1, delete it yourself in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open the Pathwei app.
- Go to Profile (bottom right).
- Open Privacy, then scroll to Data deletion.
- Tap Delete all my data.
- Confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away. You will be signed out, and you will not be able to sign in again with that account.
Option 2, ask us to delete it
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your sign-in method, or would simply rather we did it, email us:

Please send your request from the email address you used to sign up, so that we can confirm it is really you. If you cannot, tell us the email address on the account and we may ask you for something else that verifies your identity, we will never ask for your password.
Put "Delete my account" in the subject line.
We will action your request and confirm by email within one calendar month, and normally within a few days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account is a hard delete, not a deactivation and not anonymisation. We permanently remove:
- your sign-in record and email address,
- your profile, including your handle, avatar, target role and sector, and your optional field of study and gender,
- your CV, both the structured entries you built in the app and any CV files you uploaded,
- your psychometric test answers and the trait scores derived from them,
- your entire Ask-Wei chat history,
- everything Wei remembered about you, including any sensitive notes,
- your Wei-Sim simulation results,
- your career paths and progress,
- your saved and searched opportunities,
- your credit balance and spending history, and
- your consent records.
Nothing is kept back as a "deleted" flag or a shadow profile.
What happens to backups
Copies of your data may persist in routine encrypted backups for a short period after deletion. They are overwritten in line with our normal backup cycle and are never used to restore a deleted account or for any other purpose.
What we may keep, and why
If you have contacted us by email, we may retain that correspondence separately from your account for as long as we need it to handle the matter and to show that we responded, for example a data-rights request, or a support issue. Tell us if you want that removed too and we will confirm what we can delete.
Before you delete
- Export first if you want a copy. In the app, go to Profile → Privacy → Request export. You get a JSON file containing everything we hold about you. Once your account is deleted we cannot recover any of it for you.
- Deletion cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no restore.
- If you only want AI processing to stop, you do not need to delete your account. You can withdraw your consent in the app under Profile → Privacy → AI processing consent, which stops the chat, CV analysis, career test and interview simulation from processing your data while leaving your account and its contents intact.
